Our Data & AI R&D team within the Strategy & Consulting practice is driving this change-combining deep scientific and clinical knowledge with cutting-edge technology and analytics to solve some of the industry’s most complex problems. Whether optimising protocol design, enabling digital twins of clinical trials, or supporting go-to-market strategy for AI tools, we help clients accelerate development timelines, reduce risk, and unlock better outcomes for patients.

As Data & AI R&D Manager (Life Sciences), You Will:

  • Collaborate closely with the R&D Lead to shape both project delivery and business development efforts, ensuring seamless alignment between strategy, technical execution, and client engagement
  • Own end-to-end delivery on strategic R&D engagements-contributing to projects involving trial scenario simulations, protocol optimisation, recruitment forecasting, and digital twin models-and leverage your understanding of clinical development (whether from within pharma or consulting) to inform strategic problem-solving and solution design, all while managing scope, timeline, and client satisfaction
  • Work hand-in-hand with multidisciplinary teams (data scientists, technologists, and client stakeholders) to co-create impact
  • Partner with senior client stakeholders (e.g., Heads of R&D, CDOs) to co-create solution roadmaps that harness AI platforms, digital twin models, and advanced analytics
  • Translate complex data insights into compelling executive presentations and strategic recommendations that drive key development and investment decisions
  • Act as a culture champion-promoting bold innovation, diversity of thought, and celebrating shared successes across our Data & AI Life Sciences community



Qualification

We are looking for experience in the following skills:

  • Relevant work experience in data science, machine learning, and business analytics



  • Practical experience in coding languageseg.Python, R, Scala, etc.(Python preferred)



  • Strong proficiency in database technologieseg.SQL, ETL, No-SQL, DW, and Big Data technologieseg.pySpark, Hive, etc.



  • Experienced working with structured and also unstructured dataeg.Text, PDFs, jpgs, call recordings, video,etc.



  • Knowledge of machine learning modelling techniquesand how to fine-tunethosemodelseg.XGBoost, Deep Neural Networks, Transformers,ResNets,VAEs, GANs,Markov chains, etc.



  • Experience using specialized machine learning librarieseg.Fastai,Keras,Tensorflow,pytorch, sci-kit learn,huggingface,etc.



  • Must demonstrate the capacity of reading, understanding and implementingnew techniques in the field of machine learning as they emerge.



  • Experience of using Cloud technologieseg.AWS, GCP or Azure



  • Specialisedvisualisationtechniqueseg.D3.js,ggplotetc.



  • Strong verbal/written communication & data presentation skills;
