Job Purpose
As the D365 Operations Product Owner, you will play a pivotal role in aligning our Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations solution with the needs of our Operations teams. You will work closely with operational stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of their processes, ensuring that technology solutions support business objectives and deliver measurable value. A key part of your role will be assessing the impact of changes to the system, ensuring they are well-understood, carefully planned, and successfully implemented. This role is essential to our digital strategy and supports the ongoing transformation and growth of our business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Close Collaboration with Operations:
Engage directly with Operations teams to fully understand their processes, challenges, and strategic goals.
Act as the main conduit between Operations and technical delivery teams, ensuring operational requirements are accurately captured and prioritised.
Facilitate workshops and working sessions to define business needs and translate them into actionable product requirements.
Champion the voice of Operations throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring solutions are practical, efficient, and deliver real business benefit.
Requirement Prioritisation and Change Impact Assessment:
Work with Process Owners to prioritise requirements in line with business strategy, resolving any conflicts or competing demands.
Conduct detailed impact assessments of proposed changes, considering effects across people, processes, and systems.
Support effective decision-making by clearly articulating the implications, risks, and benefits of change.
Agile Delivery and Implementation Support:
Act as a key member of agile product teams, contributing to sprint planning, refinement, and review sessions.
Participate in quarterly PI planning with the D365 and wider Business Transformation teams.
Work in partnership with training teams to support adoption.
Technical and Partner Engagement:
Translate business requirements into technical specifications and user stories to guide development teams.
Collaborate with internal technical teams and external partners to ensure solutions are developed in line with priorities.
Provide clear direction and ongoing support to developers, ensuring outputs are aligned with business expectations.
Roadmap and Strategic Advisory:
Maintain a strong understanding of the D365 Operations roadmap, identifying and advising on upcoming features, risks, and opportunities.
Stay informed of relevant technology trends and make proactive recommendations for improvement and innovation.
Key Member of DRIVE Programme Implementation Team:
Act as a core member of the DRIVE implementation team, supporting programme-level planning, risk management, and change delivery.
Collaborate with colleagues across functions to ensure cohesive, joined-up delivery and successful adoption of the D365 solution.
Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience
At least 5 years experience leading complex digital or ERP projects, ideally within Operations or Supply Chain functions.
Strong understanding of business process mapping, operational workflows, and cross-functional working.
Proven ability to assess the impact of change and communicate it effectively to stakeholders.
Hands-on experience of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.
Familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and working within agile teams.
Skilled in communicating complex requirements to technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience in vendor and partner management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on practical outcomes.
Desirable
Product ownership or product management experience.
Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and experience in cloud-based application delivery.
Understanding of release and change management processes within a business systems environment
