Responsibilities

Lead the development and implementation of bioinformatics solutions to support research projects.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of bioinformatics tools.
Analyze complex biological data to derive meaningful insights and drive project outcomes.
Provide expert advice on bioinformatics methodologies and best practices.
Design and optimize algorithms for processing large-scale biological datasets.
Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of bioinformatics software and databases.
Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous testing and validation processes.
Develop and deliver training sessions to enhance team members bioinformatics skills.
Contribute to the preparation of scientific publications and presentations.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in bioinformatics and related fields.
Foster a collaborative environment to encourage innovation and knowledge sharing.
Support the development of project proposals and grant applications.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance bioinformatics capabilities.
Experience Required:

Possess a strong foundation in bioinformatics and computational biology.
Demonstrate proficiency in programming languages such as Python R or Java.
Have experience with bioinformatics tools and databases like BLAST GenBank or Ensembl.
Show expertise in data analysis and visualization techniques.
Exhibit excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Display strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Hold a degree in bioinformatics computational biology or a related field.
Contribution to Development of Practice:

A line manager, coach and mentor to members of the team
Lead practice activities including Capability Development, Knowledge Management, Proposition or Solution Development
Develop focused Thought Leadership assets including industry 'points of view' or 'white papers', podcasts, blogs, video interviews etc
