We've been assigned by one of the best performing NHS Trusts in the UK to help them recruit a

Consultant in Stroke Medicine

on either a

Substantive or a 12-month NHS Fixed Term basis .
The successful appointee will join a team of 10 NHS and academic consultants providing Stroke services, including a dedicated multi-disciplinary team delivering outstanding Stroke care and internationally recognized research within the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre. The stroke service comprises:
A 16-bed hyperacute stroke unit
A 28-bed acute rehabilitation stroke unit
An 18-bed long-term rehabilitation stroke unit
A daily Fast Track TIA clinic operating 7 days a week
Stroke outpatient clinics
24/7 thrombolysis service supported by telemedicine
A regional Mechanical Thrombectomy service
The appointee will contribute to the development of the stroke pathway, covering hyperacute, acute, intensive rehab, and continuing stroke rehabilitation, and will undertake duties including:
Reciprocal cover during leave
Patient care responsibilities
Providing comprehensive elective and emergency stroke services alongside Consultant colleagues
Engagement in clinical governance and audit activities
Participation in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
Cover for the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit, Weekend and weekday on-call, Acute Stroke Ward, TIA clinic, and Outpatients
Additional information includes:
Excellent leadership within the team
10 Programmed Activities (PAs) per week, negotiable for additional PAs
Dedicated Diabetes Centre
Outstanding nearby schools
GMC Registration required
Excellent location close to London and Manchester
Full-time or Part-time applications accepted
