Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist - Tower Hamlets /Woodberry Ward The Trust is seeking a Consultant ForensicPsychiatrist to work in the Forensic Service. The post is availabledue to an expansion in the community forensic service and adeparting consultant. This is a full-time 10 PA appointment. Thepostholder will spend approximately 5 PAs on Woodberry Ward and 5PAs in Tower Hamlets. Interested candidates in part-time orflexible working should contact us to discuss arrangements. Thepost involves joining four existing consultants in the low secureservice. The East London area served by the Trust is highly diverseand deprived, presenting significant challenges for health serviceprovision, including high levels of mental health issues, substancemisuse, and offending behavior. Main Duties The successfulcandidate will provide clinical leadership to the Tower Hamletscommunity forensic team, working alongside a 0.5 WTE colleague, andto Woodberry Ward. Clinical Responsibilities: - Hold consultantresponsibility for approximately half of the patients under theTower Hamlets Community Forensic Team and for inpatients onWoodberry Ward. - Provide clinical leadership to both teams. Job Responsibilities Referto the Job Description (JD) and Personal Specification (PS) fordetailed role requirements. Person Specification Qualifications -MB BS or equivalent qualification. - MRCPsych or equivalentapproved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists. - Higher degree inmedical education, clinical research, or management. - Additionalclinical qualifications. - GMC registration with a license topractice at appointment. - On the GMC Specialist Register or withinsix months of achieving it, or able to attain within three months.- Approved under S12 or able to achieve within three months. - Ingood standing with GMC, with no warnings or conditions on practice.Transport - Ability to travel within East London and betweenclinical sites. Skills, Knowledge, and Experience - Understandingof forensic psychiatry. - Strong clinical skills with abio-psycho-social approach and broad medical knowledge. - Excellentcommunication skills in English. - Decision-making based onevidence and experience, including input from others. - Ability tomeet duties under MHA and MCA. - Relevant specialist/sub-specialistNHS or equivalent experience. Academic and Continuing ProfessionalDevelopment - Interest and experience in Quality Improvement. -Participation in CPD. - Ability to evaluate clinical evidence. -Experience in clinical audit and service evaluation. - Ability toteach and train at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. -Reflective practice on CPD activities. - Experience in research orservice evaluation, with evidence of achievements. - Leadership inclinical audits leading to service improvements.
