Job Summary

You will be suitably experienced, hold the Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists (or equivalent) with at least 5 years of post-registration experience for appointment to 8D; must be on the Register of the Health and Care Professions Council and must be registered as a participant in the Royal College of Pathologists Continued Professional Development Scheme.

Job Description

This role is approved by the Royal College of Pathologists. The main duties include:

  • Providing a high-quality clinical service
  • Leading and supporting junior staff and students
  • Working in accordance with trust procedures and policies
  • Practicing within contractual and service plan parameters

Job Responsibilities

As a senior employee, you will support high-quality healthcare delivery, provide leadership, and ensure compliance with trust policies. You will work closely with colleagues to maintain excellent clinical standards and contribute to service development.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree or equivalent knowledge and expertise
  • Master's Degree or equivalent in clinical biochemistry

  • HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist
  • Minimum 7 years post-registration experience, including 4 at Advanced Practitioner level
  • Expertise in clinical or analytical areas, with achievements in research and publication

Desirable: national/international recognition, expertise in Andrology or Point of Care Testing.
