The Role

This newly created role reports to the VP Commercial Operations for Biosimilars, centred in Switzerland. This is a remote based position with some planned travel across Europe as required. Due to the long lead time for the production of Biologics, coupled with the fast growth rate of Biosimilars, it is necessary to pre-determine likely demand across all EU countries and manage production allocations by country accordingly.

We require an experienced pharmaceutical distribution manager, with strong commercial and analytical skills, who is highly experienced in projecting in-market demand across all EU countries. The role may also suit an experienced sales leader with knowledge of European and wholesale supply.


Key Responsibilities

  • Be the company expert in quantifying and managing in-market demand across all EU countries.
  • Manage both internal and external data sources to ensure an efficient and continuous supply of pharmaceutical products to all EU markets.
  • Maintain and improve demand optimization tools for all EU countries.
  • Maintain and manage all 3rd party data sources (e.g. Health insurance fund data, reimbursement data, IQVIA data), bespoke to EU countries.
  • Liaise with country commercial leads to confirm market demand and to maintain up to date insights on market share by distribution channels and customer.
  • Analyse, prepare and present strategic reports and recommendations for the efficient allocation of stock across EU.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance across multiple indicators, taking corrective action as necessary.
  • Support the management of distributor partnerships, where they exist within the EU.
  • Continuous development and improvement of programmes to ensure that we continue to meet changing business needs and deliver excellent customer and patient supply.
  • Providing training and guidance to staff on distribution trade practices and procedures.
  • Collaborating with legal, compliance and financial teams to ensure all aspects comply with international trade regulations and laws. Ensure compliance with internal gSOP’s for distribution management.
  • Control of costs to meet plans as agreed with the Vice President.


Qualification Profile:

  • University degree/MBA in science or business.
  • Experience in commercial distribution /demand management.
  • Proven track record of managing supply of pharmaceuticals across EU markets.
  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical market and supply within EU.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent data analysis skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple countries demands simultaneously.
  • High level of attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Biosimilar experience or knowledge is a plus.
  • Leadership skills including the ability to lead cross-functionally and across geographies.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Goal driven mindset with clear metric driven process map.
  • Always seeking new approaches to internal and external challenges.
  • Ability for planned travel up to 20% of time.
