About The Company

InsurX are on a mission to build the technology that connects any broker and any insurer so they can exchange risk without friction.

After our first partners signed up in late 2022, 27 broking houses and 22 insurers have now traded over $150m in premium using our technology. We’re targeting $1B of premium traded using our technology by the end of 2027.

The insurance market is ripe for change and rapidly digitalizing – this isn’t just our opinion, it’s the market’s consensus. The insurance industry is like investment banking in the late ‘70s: it’s about to go through its own “Big Bang”. InsurX is leading the charge. We’re making a success of it by we’ve assembling a stellar team of diverse talent, uniting technology expertise with deep knowledge of the insurance business. Our team is united by intellectual curiosity and a determination to change insurance for the better.

The Role

We’re looking for a Commercial Associate to support our scaling efforts. Our ideal Commercial Associate will work across all of our customers and drive incremental growth to our Exchange platform.

Responsibilities

  • Identify & deliver additional value to our customers: identify, map, and prioritise key customers and within the corporate & specialty insurance market. Work out how we engage with these people both on a day-to-day basis, as well as a long-term strategic basis.
  • Make sure we comply with the rules as efficiently as possible: take responsibility for drafting “delegated authority contracts” (our contracts with our insurer customers which allow us to transact on their behalf). You’ll optimise this process and ensure we meet all regulatory and legal requirements in our customer contracts.
  • Grow our business: conduct research and develop your network to understand market dynamics so that we can build a well-structured funnel of prospective customers. You’ll take responsibility for strategically advancing prospects towards becoming customers.
  • Take ownership of our marketing material and pitch decks: you’ll be helping us create impactful and consistent brand collateral to deliver InsurX’s message to all of our stakeholders and customers.
  • Manage the details which often get missed: you’ll challenge our objectives, ensure that our Commercial team sticks to agreed objectives, and take ownership of deciding which metrics we care about and how we best use our wealth of data capability in InsurX to monitor these.
  • Help us target our growth efforts: you’ll work with our Data team to dive into the data we produce in our Markets Insights platform. You’ll be distilling customer behaviours, market trends, and risk-trading best practices into actionable strategies.
  • Take care of the details: you’ll be the lead on any new broker or insurer launches on our Exchange, and you’ll need to work effectively across the InsurX teams to do this successfully.
  • Communicate effectively: you’ll develop a good working relationship with all brokers and insurers trading through our Exchange platform.

About You

  • 3+ years of experience in financial services, ideally in a fintech environment.
  • Proven ability of delivering results when working across multiple teams with tight deadlines & high expectations.
  • Effective prioritisation. You’ll have a lot of competing opportunities and priorities – it’s important you are proactive in managing both yours and the teams’ workload to maximise delivery.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience in presenting to senior level executives is ideal.
  • The ability to identify challenges, propose and deliver solutions for our customers.
