The Role:

  • Supporting the Project Design Lead / Lead Civil and Structural (C&S) Engineer, responsible for producing C&S design deliverables within single discipline, multi-discipline engineering, EPCM, or EPC projects.
  • Projects range from Concept Design to Execution Design.
  • Projects span sectors such as Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Energy, Utilities, Chemicals, and Food, including both small and large projects, greenfield and brownfield developments.
  • Carrying out all design activities independently within agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Participating in internal and external design reviews to support the Project Design Lead & Lead Civil and Structural Engineer.
  • Interpreting general arrangement drawings and scopes of work, developing them into detailed engineering designs.
  • Depending on project size and complexity, acting as the responsible C&S designer for one or multiple projects.
  • Identifying changes to the design scope, reporting them to the Project Design Lead & Lead Engineer, and supporting change management processes.
  • Driving quality in all engineering designs, including checking discipline design deliverables according to company procedures.

Your Profile

If you possess the following qualifications, we look forward to meeting you:

  • Over 5 years of experience as a C&S designer in single and multi-discipline projects within an Engineering/EPCM/EPC company, across relevant sectors.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Advance Steel or similar software, capable of carrying out designs independently.
  • Strong knowledge of C&S engineering and design, with a good understanding of other disciplines such as EC&I, Mechanical, Piping, and Process.
  • HNC / HND in Civil / Structural Engineering (Preferred).
  • Incorporated Engineer or Engineering Technician Qualification (Preferred).
  • Experience in producing and developing design deliverables including 3D models, GA drawings, steel detailing, reinforced concrete detailing, and schedules.
  • Experience with temporary works design (Preferred).
  • Ability to assist with site surveys and produce reports, including experience with laser scanning and detailed modeling (preferred).
  • Result-oriented with a 'one-time right' mentality, ensuring designs are approved by the Project Design Lead.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with project teams and support junior designers.
  • Good understanding of British/European Standards, Eurocodes, and EN1090.
