The Opportunity


As Chief Product Officer and reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team of ~60 experts across hardware, software, data applications, and program management. Your mission is to deliver innovative, customer-centric products that drive business growth and global impact.


The technology comprises various systems and sub-systems and product development will focus on each component element of the solution and their overall progression.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Executive Product Engineering leader to join the business at a pivotal point in its growth.


Key Responsibilities


The CPO will assume responsibility for the following (not limited to):

  • Overall ownership of the product/systems strategy, development, and lifecycle from concept to delivery
  • The identification and adaptation of technology trends which will support the development of the overall product
  • Leadership of cross-functional engineering and product teams to ensure system-wide integration and scalability
  • Oversee a £multi-million annual budget to deliver market-leading solutions on time and to budget
  • The ongoing development of partnerships with academia, research institutions, and customers to stay ahead of tech and market trends
  • The delivery of rigorous ISO-certified development and change management processes


Candidate requirements


We are seeking to appoint an experienced Product Engineering leader who possesses most of the following:


  • Extensive experience of operating in an Executive or Director level role in a complex product engineering environment, preferably in a medium to large-scale international organisation
  • A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • An inspiring and collaborative leadership style and approach with strong communication skills
  • Evidence of scaling complex products and managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams
  • A whole-systems thinker with experience in industrial automation, electronics, data science, and AI
  • Strong commercial acumen
