About the role:

We are seeking a hands-on and growth-minded Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to join our leadership team and report directly to the CTO. This is a unique opportunity for a senior security leader looking to take the next step and help us further establish a company-wide security and compliance program.

As our first dedicated CISO, you will play a pivotal role in building and maturing our security posture, encompassing product, infrastructure, compliance, data privacy, and corporate IT security. You will define strategy, implement controls, and serve as the face of security both internally and with customers.

Location:United Kindgdom or Slovenia

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and drive the information security and compliance strategy across the company, aligned with our business priorities.
  • Partner closely with engineering, IT, DevOps, product management, and legal to ensure security is embedded in the product nd development lifecycle.
  • Define KPIs and reporting structures for visibility into risk and compliance.
  • Build and lead foundational security programs across areas such as application security, cloud infrastructure security, incident response, identity and access management, and vulnerability management.
  • Ensure and improve the security of Loftware’s existing applications by driving forward our existing SAST and DAST setups.
  • Establish and maintain compliance with relevant frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR) in partnership with internal stakeholders.
  • Support customer, partner, and auditor interactions related to security posture and assurance.

Key Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in information security, including at least 2 years in a senior or second-line leadership role within a SaaS company.
  • Demonstrated experience working across multiple domains of security (e.g., application, infrastructure, compliance, governance).
  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles and the security challenges of a multi-product, multi-tenant SaaS environment.
  • Hands-on experience with security tools, risk assessments, and policy development.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, or HIPAA.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, especially with engineering and customer-facing teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience building or significantly maturing a security program from early stages.
  • Experience in environments with rapid product development cycles and complex data flows.
  • Comfortable interfacing with customer security teams and fielding security questionnaires or due diligence efforts.
