The Pathogen Missionhighlights EIT’s transformative approach, using Whole GenomeSequencing (WGS) and Oracle’s cloud technology to create a globalpathogen metagenomics system. This initiative aims to improvediagnostics, provide early epidemic warnings, and guide treatmentsby profiling antimicrobial resistance. The goal is to delivercertified diagnostic tools for widespread use in labs, hospitals,and public health. EIT Oxford fosters a culture of collaboration,innovation, and resilience, valuing diverse expertise to drivesustainable solutions to humanity’s enduring challenges. We areseeking a Chief Commercial Officer to shape and drive thecommercial strategy for the programme. Reporting to the CEO, andacting as a pivotal member of the Pathogen Programme LeadershipTeam, this role will be responsible for ensuring successfulcommercial negotiations and delivering impact at scale. KeyResponsibilities: 1. Develop and lead the commercial strategy,aligned with the Programme’s broader aims. 2. Collaborate with theCEO and leadership team to establish and refine commercialstrategies, market positioning, and commercial objectives. 3.Identify and evaluate new revenue opportunities, market segments,and strategic positioning. 4. Lead commercial negotiations foracquisition, licensing and partnership agreements. 5. Represent EITin high-level partnership and client discussions. 6. Build and leadthe commercial and business partnerships teams. 7. Define andoperationalise commercial processes. 8. Build processes fortracking execution and impact of commercial models through toimplementation and beyond. 9. Ensure strategic and day-to-dayalignment with Pathogena leadership team, and broader stakeholdersacross EIT. Qualifications & Experience: 1. Advanced degree inbusiness, life sciences, or a related field. 2. Proven track recordin commercial leadership roles in life sciences, medtech, orbiotechnology. 3. Experience scaling commercial operations instartup or high-growth environments. 4. Demonstrated success inglobal partnerships and complex negotiations. 5. Visionary andstrategic thinker with strong execution skills. 6. Ability to solvecomplex operational problems swiftly and make high-impact decisionsunder pressure. 7. Strong analytical skills to monitor performancemetrics, identify bottlenecks, and assess the effectiveness ofoperational strategies. 8. Proactive, with a strong ability to workindependently while collaborating effectively with cross-functionalteams. 9.
