Vickerstock are working in partnership with a growing manufacturing business on the appointment of a Buyer on a full-time basis. Our client sells heavily into the Pharmaceutical industry, providing a wide array of services with their top-quality product range. As the Buyer, you will report directly to the Head of Operations and will be responsible for buying activities and optimising the supply chain processes to ensure the efficient flow of goods, materials, and information. You will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency, and quality standards are met. Duties will include: Place orders on suppliers by creating Purchase Orders (PO). Update the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system with delivery dates. Track and progress orders with suppliers to meet demand dates. Support stores operation including goods in, quality check, inventory control and material allocation activities. Allocate stock and manage the delivery of allocated orders from the MRP. Coordinate buying spend, buying locations, and relationships with different suppliers. Expand the supplier base by sourcing new suppliers and reducing supply chain risks and single sourcing issues. Analyse supply chain data to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction. Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, monitor supplier KPIs supplier agreements. Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve favourable outcomes. Develop and implement strategies to optimise supply chain processes. What you will need to succeed: Proven experience in purchasing. Strong negotiation and contract management skills. Experience sourcing and onboarding/qualifying new suppliers Proficient in MRP systems, supply chain software, Office 365 application suite.
