Through their proprietary platform, they create customized enzymes for customers in the pharmaceutical, food, agriculture, and chemical industries. The company has already partnered with global players such as Thermo Fisher, BASF, and Kirin – and is now in the process of expanding further. Biomatter Designs is looking for Business Development Managers who want to be part of their continued success and growth.

Job Description

Biomatter Designs is seeking a self-driven and business-oriented Business Development Manager with a focus on new customer acquisition. The role involves prospecting, building relationships, and driving the sales of complex technical solutions within protein and enzyme design. The person in this role will handle the entire sales cycle from initial contact to contract and will work with clients in fields such as synthetic biology, biopharma, and biotech.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to tailor solutions according to customer needs
  • Represent the company at conferences, client meetings, and international trade shows
  • Report and work systematically in the CRM

Your Profile

To succeed in the role of Business Development Manager at Biomatter Designs, the ideal candidate will be business-driven, curious, and analytical "hunter" profile who thrives in a role where new customer relationships are built from the ground up. The ability to manage complex sales cycles is essential. The role is suited for someone entrepreneurial, independent, and trustworthy in dealings with both technical and commercial decision-makers.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in an international environment
  • Proven experience in prospecting and acquiring new customers
  • Experience managing the entire sales cycle – including contract writing
  • Ability to conduct value-based sales
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken (company's working language)
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time
  • Ability to work independently from a home office

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in sales within biotech, synthetic biology, or biopharma
  • Network within relevant industries and research environments
  • Post-secondary education in biotechnology, chemistry, natural sciences, or engineering
  • Experience in a startup/scale-up environment with high pace and significant responsibility

Location: Remote

Start: By agreement

You will also have the opportunity to participate in a one-year sales training program with Mikael Arndt, including 25 diploma-awarding sales courses and weekly live lectures.
