A privately owned, dynamic, and successful business, our client is a global expert in humidity and moisture control. They supply products that help ensure the quality and shelf-life stability of packaged goods across a variety of applications and industries. In addition, they offer a unique consultation service to help pharmaceutical, healthcare, and medical device manufacturers determine the most efficient way to protect their products.
We are seeking an exceptional Business Development Executive to join our client as part of their ambitious growth journey. Based at their Thames Valley headquarters, this role will focus on driving new sales, primarily within the UK and Irish markets. You will be working for the Healthcare Protective Packaging Sector.

About the Position: Job Title: Business Development Executive
Location: Office-based, 5 days a week, with the opportunity for business travel both in the UK and thereafter overseas. Due to the highly technical nature of our work, this position is not suitable to work from Home.
The new Business Development Executive will drive new sales with customers that they themselves identify. They will also develop cross-sells of new products to existing customers, who currently buy other products from us. The role will be 90% telephone sales, with some face-to-face customer visits and tradeshow appearances.
The new Business Development Executive will join a team of five experienced sales professionals and report directly to the Commercial Director. Our client is a family-owned business with 25 staff in the UK and an impressively low staff turnover rate. Many members of the sales team have been with the organisation for between 5 and 20 years.
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 dependent on experience, with the opportunity to earn bonus as commission on new sales capped at an additional £60,000 on top of basic salary

Minimum Requirements
Education:
Ideally a 2:1 or First-Class University Degree in a science-related subject, as the role involves working closely with highly educated scientists.

Experience:
At least 2 years experience in a technical sales role, with the ability to demonstrate and discuss measurable successes.

Language:
Excellent oral and written English language skills are essential.

Numeracy:
Ideally GCSE Maths Grade C or higher, as the role involves quoting customers in different currencies. Strong numerical skills are important, and candidates will be asked to complete a short numeracy exercise during the interview process.

Location:
Ideally living, or willing to live, within a commutable distance

IT Skills:
Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.

Mobility:
A full drivers licence is required. Candidates must also be willing to travel overseas for customer visits and to support international trade shows.

Further Preferred Skills
Languages:
Knowledge of a non-English European language would be an advantage.

IT Skills:
Previous experience using a CRM system would be beneficial.

Experience:
Prior sales experience within the medical or healthcare sector would be advantageous.
