We are now looking for an experienced Business Development Manager who is responsible for the development of business within Biologics and Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs). This is a key leadership role to acquire new customers and also support existing key accounts. The Laboratories are based in Reading and will require travel to site to meet with clients as well as travel to events and at client facilities.

How You Will Contribute

  1. Responsible for the Biologics and ATMPs sales – finding new customers and managing existing customers.
  2. Lead the sales process from prospecting to closure, meetings, and exceeding sales targets.
  3. Provide regular sales forecasts for Operations teams to resource to.
  4. Negotiate and close business opportunities and be recognised for building trust within RSSL and with clients.
  5. Leverage existing connections and continually build a network within the industry, by actively participating in networking events, industry conferences, and professional associations to expand our business network.
  6. Prospect for new customers and continue lead generation activities to identify new opportunities within the Biologics and Scientific industries.
  7. Build relationships with customers of all sizes, from start-ups to larger organisations.
  8. Develop effective sales tools, presentations, and collateral to enhance the sales process.
  9. Cultivate and nurture relationships with key clients, leveraging security expertise to understand and address their unique needs.
  10. Devise and implement comprehensive business strategies to drive growth and enhance market presence.
  11. Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify strategic business opportunities.
  12. Grow and drive sales of the Biologics services to achieve sales goals for the assigned territory.
  13. Gather and communicate relevant market information to the Head of Commercial.
  14. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

What You Will Bring

  1. A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career and the following experience and knowledge:
  2. Educated to degree level in a Scientific subject area.
  3. Knowledge of Biologics essential and ATMPs preferable.
  4. Previous experience in business development within a CRO/CMO or pharma company resulting in a demonstrable understanding of the pharma industry.
  5. Successful track record in selling of GMP products/services.
  6. Knowledge of the global Biopharmaceutical market place is preferred.
  7. Proven track record of bringing in new business and cultivating new business and managing key accounts.
  8. Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  9. Excellent verbal and writing command in English language.
  10. Software skills, Office, SAP.
  11. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  12. Team player.
  13. Business attire, commercial mindset.
  14. Entrepreneurial self-starter (ability to work independently and manage one’s time).
  15. Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
