Rate: £28.00 – £35.00 P/H
The Biomedical Science team at Pulse is recruiting a Band 7 Biomedical Scientist in Biochemistry to work in a busy hospital in Southwark. We are looking for a biomedical scientist who can make a real difference in supporting the laboratory’s service. We seek a biomedical scientist with experience in biochemistry and Roche analyzers. You must be able to work the following shifts: 08:00 to 16:30, 09:30 to 18:00, 10:30 to 19:00, and 12:00 to 20:30.
What will you be doing in this Biomedical Scientist role?
In this biochemistry role, responsibilities encompass conducting experiments to investigate biochemical processes and designing as well as optimizing laboratory protocols. This involves collecting, analyzing, and interpreting experimental data while maintaining detailed records of research findings. Collaboration with other scientists and researchers is crucial, including presenting findings at team meetings and contributing to scientific publications. Ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards in the laboratory is essential, as is participating in the validation of new methods and technologies. Staying updated on the latest research and reviewing scientific literature to inform research strategies are also key tasks. Additionally, mentoring junior staff or students by providing guidance and training in laboratory techniques is an important aspect of the position.
Requirements for this Biomedical Scientist position:
NHS or private sector experience in a relevant biochemistry role.
Familiarity with Roche analyzers and related laboratory equipment.
Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts, both in writing and verbally.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
