Job overview

To manage the staff and resources of the Outpatient Dispensaries alongside the Chief Technician to provide a safe and efficient Pharmaceutical Service to patients and staff of the Royal Free London Pharmacy, a wholly owned subsidiary of the RFL Group and the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust in accordance with objectives set by the Superintendent Pharmacist.

Some responsibilities will include:

  • To provide and co-ordinate pharmacy dispensary services .
  • To manage the day to day activities, training and assessment of staff in dispensary.
  • To be responsible for development and maintenance of SOPs within area of service internally and externally as appropriate.

    We are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic and forward-thinking pharmacy technician to join our Outpatient Pharmacy team. You will need to be organised and well-motivated and have excellent communication and people skills, as well as the ability to adapt quickly to new situations.     Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust Values
    Education & professional Qualifications

    BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences (NVQ Pharmacy services Level 3) or equivalent
    CPPE or equivalent ACPT qualification
    Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
    NVQ A1 workplace assessor award or Educational Supervisor
    Experience

    Broad technical pharmaceutical knowledge relating to promotion of high quality, efficient and cost -effective use of medicines
    Experience of expenditure reporting
    Experience of undertaking audits
    Experience of writing SOPs
    Previous assessable experience/understanding of JAC Pharmacy Computer System (or equivalent)
    Experience of training and supervision
    Experience of project management
    Evidence of work in an operational management capacity
    Previous experience working as an outpatient technician
    Experience of medicines reconciliation
