Agilent offers a broad variety of high-quality workflow solutions for various applications for Life Sciences, translational research and more. The target markets for this opportunity would include working with customers in academia, research, biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical and biotech industries.

TheAssociate Vice President (AVP) of Salesis responsible for the overall sales operations, including strategies and results, in assigned area of responsibility for the Life Sciences & Diagnostics Markets (LDG) at Agilent, incl.Molecular and Biological Research (MBR) & Cell Analysis Sales and Applications (CASA).

This position plans and directs all sales activities including planning and implementing forecasts, developing policies, implementing and/or developing sales strategies, managing customer relationships, designing specific programs to achieve business objectives, and staffing and training the sales force. In addition, the AVP will establish short- and long-term goals and quotas in alignment with company objectives.

The person will be a member of the Agilent OneCommercial Sales leadership organization and will report to the VP/GM LDG Field Organization. The AVP will lead a team that typically consists of directors, managers and senior-level individual contributors distributed across Western Europe. The position will periodically travel to support business objectives.

Responsibilities:

Contribute to corporate and/or group level strategy development; leverages experience and market knowledge to advise recommendations Translate strategic priorities into functional action plans that balance short-term and long-term strategic goals Direct and run implementation of functional plans through subordinate managers and teams; adjust team activities as needed to meet project objectives Lead and implement major projects and initiatives Actively select and develop next generation leaders Monitor market trends, adapt current programs to evolving trends, and recommend new strategies and activities to keep current Responsible for performance of functional area and team Contribute to the development of policies; autonomy to administer and interpret programs and policies that can have significant impact Manage project and team budgets to plan Responsible for developing functional plans in support of organizational strategy Recommend and advocate program and policy changes to senior leadership, drive implementation of approved changes Build relationships with other Agilent leaders to drive effective implementation of operating plans and priorities Regular, ongoing interaction with Agilent’s executive leaders, frequent interaction with CEO Staff Manage major customers and key account relationships

Qualifications

Master’s degree or PhD in a Life Sciences related field, preferably in biology/biochemistry or molecular biology or cell biology. An MBA is a plus. Minimum of 5+ years of international sales leadership with a history of increasing responsibility in people/team management and business development success Broad knowledge in function and proven ability to drive sales strategies Excellent collaboration, influencing and facilitation skills across business groups, functions, and employee levels Proficient in English, other languages are a plus Willingness to travel (20-50%) primarily in Europe Willingness to engage teams and business partners across multiple time zones

This position can be remotely based anywhere in Western Europe where Agilent has a legal entity.

This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely.Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
