This innovative epidemiologist role sits in the Center for Advanced Evidence Generation (CAEG) at IQVIA and reports directly to the Chief Scientific Officer. CAEG works alongside scientific teams across IQVIA andis responsible for driving innovation in patient health, with focus on use of real world evidence (RWE) for regulatory decision-making, use of artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) as a tool in research, and global public health. Our close-knit team works across the business, both internally at IQVIA as well as externally across industry groups and public-private partnerships. 

Job Overview:

Drive innovation by collaborating across IQVIA’s scientific, technical, and product development teams to generate thought leadership and provide epidemiologic expertiseon study design and interpretation for innovative studies. 

Provide expert consultation and guidance to internal project teams, other departments and divisions of IQVIA, and our clients in areas including observational study methods, statistical methods, and AI/ML to achieve high scientific validity and maintainintegrity of results.

Support writing on protocols, manuscripts, and other study documents with independent, critical thinking to ensure accuracy, quality and completeness of output and final content.

Contribute to department leadership within region (US, EMEA, or APAC) and globally as determined by business needs, including support of new business development, creation of new products, media and publications,and client projects. 

 Requirements:

PhD (or an equivalent degree) in epidemiology, data science or a closely related scientific discipline, with sound methodological training in epidemiology with 7 years’ experience.

Self-motivated and proven leadership skills.

Strong writing skills and experience with publication in the literature, experience delivering scientific presentations, and engaging in cross-functional collaboration. 

Ability to provide scientific oversight and methodologic guidance on study protocols. 

Strong background and experience in rigorous study design and epidemiologic methods with experience and interest in AI/ML.

In addition to strong quantitative and methodologic skills, we are looking for a strong team player comfortable with thinking critically and creatively in his/her approach to science.
