Porterhouse Insights is the global research, insight and evidence consultancy of Porterhouse Medical Group (a part of the SCIRIS network), which was established in 2017 to generate actionable insights to meet evolving client needs.
The team works with healthcare and pharmaceutical clients across R&D, commercial and medical to answer ad hoc research questions with primary and secondary market research studies.
The team also works closely with Porterhouse Medical colleagues to ensure our campaigns and solutions are driven by powerful, real-world insights and truly make a difference to people’s lives.
A summary of who we are looking for
The Consultancy has grown every year since its establishment in 2017 and we are now looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Associate Director to join the senior team.
As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of our organisation and make a significant impact on our continued success.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong and consistent track record of performance in pharmaceutical insights, with excellent client management and client reputation. You will play a crucial role in driving our agency’s growth, leveraging your industry relationships to win new business and expand our client base.

The Role
ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR
Based in central London, Reading, Nottingham or Milton Keynes; 2 days per week in office (usually Tuesdays and Thursdays), other days can be worked from home.
Responsibilities:
Leadership:
All aspects of project leadership, including identifying new business, pitching and winning the work, project design, fieldwork, delivery and follow-up on client satisfaction, as well as financial management
Contribute fully to the Senior Management Team on business development initiatives, marketing strategies and innovative methodologies, as well as influencing and implementing strategic direction
Continually evaluate and develop sector strategies
Client focus:
Develop and maintain professional, proactive relationships with new, existing, and lapsed clients to form long-term alliances
Support Account Directors and Research Managers with client interactions
Write and renew the design of projects (proposals, questionnaires, approaches to analysis and presentations) to ensure they satisfy and exceed client expectations
Performance and talent management:
Act as mentor to Account Directors and Research Managers
Conduct regular management reviews with line reports, reviewing performance, setting objectives, and identifying learning needs
Facilitate the professional development and learning of all those with whom you work
Knowledge and skills desired:
Ideally 7+ years of experience within the pharma insights industry
Proven track record of developing new business
Expertise in leading complex, large scale projects
Expert knowledge in key methodologies and approaches (published, conference speaking, industry training)
Business acumen with a sound grasp of divisional financial performance and cost drivers
Understanding of business management issues
Strategic leadership skills
Strong negotiation skills e.g., contracts and discounts
Enthusiasm to play a key part in building our business
