Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop and apply analytical characterization methods as required in the course of pharmaceutical development of mRNA-loaded nanoparticles.
  • Provide regular analytical service measurements to support internal development projects for analytical methods and instrumentation, such as HPLC, Light scattering (DLS), Capillary Electrophoresis (CE), Gel Electrophoresis (GE), Western blot (WB), PCR, rt-PCR.
  • Validate methods and equipment.
  • Write SOPs, development reports for internal and external use, research papers, etc.
  • Present scientific results to relevant teams and external partners.


Education and Experience:

  • PhD or master’s degree in chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or related field.
  • Proven scientific expertise in application of analytical, bioanalytical or physicochemical methods for characterization of lipids, (bio)polymers and complex molecular systems, ideally with focus on pharmaceutical products.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one of the following analytical techniques: HPLC, LC/MS, Capillary Electrophoresis, Light Scattering, X-ray/neutron scattering, UV-vis spectroscopy, fluorescence

spectroscopy, FTIR, Raman spectroscopy, electron microscopy

  • Familiarity with chemistry and physics of colloidal systems, such as nanoparticles, emulsions, micelles, lipids, or polymers or nucleotides advantageous.
  • Strong skills in applying relevant software, routines, and formalisms for data analysis and presentation of results.
  • Ideally 2-4 years of relevant industry or postdoc experience, knowledge of ISO/GMP requirements.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines, convey processes, results, and key messages quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Ability to interact and communicate in multidisciplinary, multifunctional, and multicultural teams. Outgoing, open-minded person and able to motivate a team to go the extra mile.
