Our client, who are a Global leading Research & Development business, are recruiting for looking to recruit a Senior Technologist/Scientist to join their team at the state of the art facilities near Southampton.Collaborate with stakeholders to develop analytical solutions and provide timely, reliable data that support informed technical decision-making in product development. Design and conduct analytical studies in alignment with project objectives, ensuring adherence to agreed technical and quality standards. This role requires a strong foundation in analytical expertise, product chemistry knowledge, problem-solving abilities, stakeholder engagement, and clear communication.Key responsibilities include:Leading scientific studies individually and within a team, addressing essential needs to support the development of New Categories products.Effectively engaging with stakeholders to define testing requirements and objectives, ensuring studies are designed to deliver the right data and insights.Spearheading the development of innovative analytical techniques, particularly GC- and LC-based methods, to support product development.Analyzing scientific data to draw appropriate conclusions and presenting these findings to stakeholders through technical reports and presentations.Contributing to the operational efficiency of the laboratory and maintaining quality systems alongside departmental colleagues.Required skills and qualifications:Solid analytical chemistry expertise for detecting and quantifying active substances in consumer products, including trace level analytes in complex matrices.Proven experience in analytical method development and validation using instrumental analysis techniques, particularly GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, and LC-UV, with strong troubleshooting abilities.Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal R&D stakeholders.High attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a willingness to continuously learn.Creative, adaptable, and results-focused with a drive to deliver high-quality outcomes.A professional or academic background in Chemistry or a related physical science degree.Desirable qualifications:Familiarity with software such as OpenLab, SCIEX OS, Analyst, ChemStation, ChromCompare.Active membership in the RSC and/or evidence of ongoing professional development.This role is initally until May 2026 but could last longer.There will be hybrid opportunities for work once a qualifying period has been completed which would encapsulate 3 days (site) and 2 days (working from home)Hours: 35+ per week9am - 5pm (Monday to Friday - Flexible)Pay: £21.89 per hour (PAYE)
