Analytical Chemist for a leading analytical and testing service company, based in Derbyshire. Requiring a degree in Chemistry, Forensic Science, Natural Sciences or similar; as well as industrial laboratory experience using chromatographic techniques.


Title: Analytical Chemist

Location: Derby, Derbyshire

Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Term: Permanent


SRG are currently working with an industry leading analytical and testing service company, who are currently seeking an Analytical Chemist to join the lab team at their site in Derbyshire. This exciting Analytical Chemist opportunity would be well suited to an early career Analyst with in-depth knowledge of GC instrumentation looking to gain significant hands-on experience quickly.

Role Description


  • Analytical testing of a variety of environmental samples using GC-FID and GC-MS instrumentation
  • Carrying out a range of extraction techniques for sample preparation
  • Conducting equipment calibrariob
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of GC-MS and GC-FID instruments
  • Investigating any OOS or OOT results
  • Updating SOPs, methods, and other documentation when necessary.


Requirements


  • Recent graduate in Chemistry, Forensic Science, Natural Sciences or similar
  • Industrial experience using GC-FID or GC-MS techniques (this could be from a placement year or following University)
  • Experience in an ISO accredited laboratory would be highly advantageous
  • An obvious passion for analytical chemistry
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a willingness to develop skills further
  • Excellent communication skills, able to communicate effectively with a multitude of departments
  • Able to multi-task and change priorities quickly depending on business need.
