AI Data Scientist – Python Specialist (Contract) Location: Cambridge (Hybrid – 1 day/week onsite)
 Duration: 6 months
Day Rate: £400–£550/day (Outside IR35)
Start Date: End of August
A leading Cambridge-based biotech company is urgently seeking an AI Data Scientist with strong Python skills to support the development of machine learning models for biomedical data analysis. You’ll be joining a small, agile team working on projects ranging from genomic data interpretation to clinical trial optimization.
 Key Responsibilities:
Build and deploy ML models using Python, scikit-learn, and PyTorch
Work with structured and unstructured biomedical datasets (e.g. genomic sequences, patient records, imaging)
Collaborate with bioinformaticians and clinical researchers to translate data into actionable insights
Contribute to the development of internal tools for data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation Requirements:
3+ years of experience in data science or ML, ideally in biotech or healthcare
Strong Python programming skills and experience with ML libraries
Familiarity with Jupyter, Pandas, NumPy, and MLFlow
Experience working with clinical or biological datasets is a big plus
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, research-driven environment Bonus Skills:
Knowledge of genomics, bioinformatics, or clinical trials
