Role: Accounts Assistant
Location: Wales
Type: Permanent (Hybrid)

The Company is a growing international specialty pharmaceutical group that is a dedicated ally to healthcare providers treating patients with critical conditions, focusing on emergency care and rare diseases. This position is required to assist in all aspects of accounts preparation and statutory reporting compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Accounting Clerk and assist in resolution of queries that may arise, ensuring that all activities are completed in a timely manner and reporting deadlines are met.
  • Maintain sales ledger, ensuring that all sales invoices are raised in a timely manner, sub-ledger to G/L accounts are reconciled and appropriate credit control activities are carried out.
  • Maintain cash books ensuring all transactions are processed, monthly bank reconciliations completed, and sub-ledger is agreed to G/L.
  • Prepare monthly cash requirement ensuring appropriate funding is maintained across all bank accounts.
  • Support intercompany process, ensuring that all invoices are raised and processed, supporting schedules are maintained and balances reconciled with relevant counter party.
  • Prepare monthly accruals and prepayments, accurately maintaining supporting schedules and reconciling to G/L.
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules, update fixed asset register for additions and disposals in the month, run depreciation, reconcile sub-ledger and other supporting schedules to G/L.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT return and any other returns as required.
  • Prepare and submit National Statistics returns as required.
  • Assist in preparation of schedules required for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
  • Actively explore ways to make system improvements and gain process efficiencies.
  • Ensure that all interactions and engagements are carried out with the highest ethical and professional standards and that all work is accomplished with quality and in accordance with values.
  • Carry out other reasonable tasks as required by the Financial Controller.


Education & Experience:

  • AAT Qualified / or equivalent
  • Significant proven accounting experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft applications, as required.
  • Experience of computerised accounting packages is essential.
