We are a well-established manufacturer with over 50 years of history, producing critical components for leading blue-chip customers. Our business is built on precision, quality, and reliability, and we are proud to be a trusted supplier in our field.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. This role is integral to our operations and offers the opportunity to contribute to a successful, forward-thinking business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce monthly and year-end accounts
  • Oversee daily cash management and update real-time cashflow spreadsheets
  • Prepare cashflow forecasts and annual budgets
  • Manage banking operations and supplier payments
  • Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Lead the external audit process and respond to auditor queries
  • Review draft statutory accounts and trial balances
  • Prepare disclosure notes and tax computation support
  • Maintain management account opening balances
  • Administer payroll, pension submissions, and associated calculations
  • Perform weekly and monthly multi-currency bank reconciliations
  • Manage sales invoicing and purchase orders
  • Submit VAT returns monthly and quarterly
  • Supervise two clerical staff
  • Support senior finance staff with ad hoc tasks

    Essential Experience & Skills
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing environments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Hands-on experience with SAGE 50 and SAGE Payroll
  • Experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred)
  • Familiar with invoice discounting
  • Full understanding of VAT returns, pensions, and payroll processes
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated with a collaborative team approach
  • A keen learner, open to developing new skills
