What’s the role of an Account Lead?

An

Account Lead

is a senior member of the Customer Management team responsible for the direction and execution of key accounts. They understand and articulate customer needs, ensuring the team provides high-quality outputs that lead to account stability and growth. They manage the financial aspects of the accounts and deliver against revenue targets.
The Customer Management team delivers projects for our customers. The Account Lead ensures projects exceed expectations and are delivered within budget.
The Account Lead reports to senior management including the CEO and Medical Director.

Account Lead

is responsible for:
Providing insights to inform and shape the development of the customer’s strategic plan and understanding customer needs throughout the account team.
Building and maintaining positive, enduring customer relationships across multiple levels, serving as the primary contact and strategic partner.
Ensuring high-quality delivery of tasks against SLAs by the account team, exceeding customer expectations.
Empowering the account team to ensure consistent quality.
Identifying and resolving key issues internally or with customers promptly.
Building networks, participating in new business pitches, RFPs, and contributing to incremental business.
Exploring optimal ways of working and setting team standards.
Preparing and leading customer Executive Business Review meetings, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.
Involvement in account audits and resolutions.
Building effective internal partnerships with departments such as sales to win, retain, and deliver on accounts.
Managing financials and forecast accuracy at the account level, delivering revenue targets.
Representing the customer in internal meetings and forums.
Mentoring team members for personal development.
Account Leads are ambassadors for PharmaReview, helping to build the company's profile and customer base.
Qualifications

Successful candidates will have:
Essential skills:

5+ years’ experience in medical communications, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or regulatory sectors, currently in senior account management or equivalent roles.
Life Science degree.
Proven experience delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience in delivering presentations and leading customer pitches.
Experience coaching, mentoring, or managing teams.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong customer relationship skills.
Problem-solving skills and solutions orientation.
Understanding of ABPI, EFPIA, IPHA, and PhRMA codes of conduct.
Experience with review systems like Veeva Vault PromoMats, Aprimo, or similar.
Location: UK.

Masters or PhD in life sciences or related business experience.
Signatory/AQP expertise.
Medical or Pharmacist qualification.
