What’s the role of an Account Lead?

An Account Lead is a senior member of the Customer Management team responsible for the strategic direction and execution of a team and key account(s). In addition to overseeing account performance, the role includes line management responsibilities, ensuring team members are supported, developed, and aligned with business goals. The Account Lead is accountable for understanding and articulating the customer’s needs, ensuring the team delivers high-quality outputs that drive account stability and growth. They also manage the financial performance of the account(s), delivering against revenue targets and contributing to the overall success of the organization.

The Customer Management team are responsible for the delivery of projects for our customers. The Account Lead ensures projects exceed customer expectations and are delivered to budget.

The Account Lead reports to the senior management team including the CEO and Medical Director.

An Account Lead at PharmaReview – and IQVIA Company is responsible for:

Providing insights to inform and shape the development of the customer strategic plan as well as leading the understanding of the customers’ needs throughout the account team
Building and maintaining positive and enduring customer relationships across multiple levels. The established point of contact for the customer and being recognized as a strategic partner
Responsible for the high-quality delivery of tasks against SLA’s by the account team, ensuring that we exceed all customers’ expectations
Empowering the account team, ensuring things are done with quality consistently
Identifying key issues and resolving them internally /with customers quickly
Building broad networks, participating in the development and delivery of new business pitches/RFP documents and contributing to incremental business
Demonstrating commitment to exploring optimal ways of working
Setting standards for the team
Preparing and running customer Executive Business Review meetings, highlighting excellence and identifying areas of improvement
Involvement in account audit and resolution
Building effective internal partnerships with other IQVIA depts – such as sales, to successfully win, retain and deliver on the account
Financial management and forecast accuracy at account(s) level, delivering against revenue
Representing the customer internally (ops meetings, financial, senior leadership, townhalls etc.)
Mentoring team members to enable personal development

Account Leads are ambassadors for PharmaReview, an IQVIA company, helping to build the profile and customer base of the Company.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have:

Essential skills:

5+ years’ experience within medical communications/healthcare/pharmaceuticals/Regulatory working currently as a senior account management or account director or equivalent
Life Science degree
Demonstrable experience delivering high quality projects for customers, on time and on budget
Excellent communication skills
Experience in delivering presentations and leading customer pitches
Experienced in coaching, mentoring or managing others
Experience working in a fast-paced environment
Experience in building strong customer partnerships
Experience problem solving and providing solutions
Understanding of the ABPI, EFPIA, IPHA and PhRMA codes of conduct
Experience working in Veeva Vault PromoMats/MedComms, Aprimo or similar review and approval system
Location: UK. This role is not eligible for UK visa sponsorship.

Desirable skills or qualifications:

Masters or PhD in life sciences or business related experience
Signatory/AQP expertise
Medical of Pharmacist qualification
