Location: West Midlands

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 DOE

They are now looking for an experienced Technical Assessor/ Senior Technical Assessor to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the compliance, safety and classification of waste following the relevant regulatory guidelines. This would suit candidates with 1+ years' experience as a technical assessor or a site chemist position in the waste industry.

Working Hours: onsite 5/5 Monday -Friday, 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays,

Role / Description

Conduct technical assessments of waste management operations to ensure compliance with environmental and industry regulations.

Work alongside site chemists and mobile chemists to provide technical assessments on waste coming into site as well as customer sites

Qualification and classification of chemicals, reporting and analysis of waste streams to determine what can be treated onsite and what needs transferring to other sites

Identify and assign cost effective treatment and processing routes

Evaluate applications for permits, accreditations, or certifications related to waste processing, recycling, and disposal.

Provide expert advice on waste classification, handling, treatment, and disposal methods.

Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients, and internal teams to ensure consistent interpretation of waste legislation and best practices.

Analysis of information to determine waste transportation methods (ADR/IMDG regs)

Work alongside DGSA's, management, sales and chemists to facilitate smooth running of inbound and outbound waste streams.

Provide technical advice, support and guidance internally and externally

Requirements

Minimum HNC any of the following degrees Chemistry, bio chemistry, environmental science, biochemistry or scientific degree with significant chemistry content

Recent experience working as a technical assessor or a site chemist in the waste industry

DGSA, IOSH and IMDG- preferred

Knowledge and understanding of ADR, WM3 and other waste regulations
