Senior Laboratory Support Associate

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Senior Laboratory Support Associate (SSLA) to join our team at our client’s Oxford site. Reporting to the UK Cluster Lead, this is a pivotal role responsible for supporting and supervising laboratory operations while ensuring efficient coordination of laboratory procedures.

You will play a key part in maintaining a seamless, compliant, and high-performing laboratory environment, working closely with all teams.

The team focuses on developing best-in-class agonist antibodies targeting immune inhibitory receptors—an exciting and novel approach to treating inflammatory diseases.

Key Responsibilities

As Senior Laboratory Support Associate, you will ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of laboratory and facility services, including:

* Coordinating the Laboratory Equioment/ Laboratory Asset Management Programme (LAMP), ensuring equipment is maintained and calibrated

* Scheduling preventative maintenance and managing equipment breakdowns with vendors

* Raising and managing purchase orders via CMMS systems

* Supporting vendor onboarding processes with finance teams

* Managing laboratory stock, including ordering, monitoring, and replenishment

* Receiving and checking deliveries

* Supporting laboratory operations, including dishwashing and glassware management

* Managing laboratory and liquid waste in coordination with third-party vendors

* Maintaining accurate chemical waste inventories

* Using Chemwatch to manage chemical safety processes, including COSHH compliance

* Supporting continuous improvement and ad hoc laboratory projects

* Ensure full compliance with company policies, health & safety standards, and audit requirements

* Promote a safe, clean, and compliant working environment at all times

About You

We are looking for a motivated and solutions-focused professional with a strong background in laboratory support services. You will thrive in fast-paced environments and are committed to delivering high standards.

Essential skills and experience:

* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar laboratory support role

* Experience working in research or lab-based environments

* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

* A proactive, “can-do” attitude with strong problem-solving ability

* Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

* High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure

* Strong customer service mindset with a focus on delivering results
