About us

Owkin is an AI company on a mission to solve the complexity of biology. It is building the first Biology Super Intelligence (BASI) by combining powerful biological large language models, multimodal patient data, and agentic software. At the heart of this system is Owkin K, an AI copilot and its new LLM fine-tuned on biology called Owkin Zero, used by researchers, clinicians, and drug developers to better understand biology, validate scientific hypotheses, and deliver better diagnostics and therapies faster.

Position is based in New York Office or remotely in the North East of the US Eastern Time Zone

About the role:

As a Sales Director, Life Science Accounts, you will lead commercial engagements with some of Owkin’s most dynamic and high-potential customers, including biotech companies, CROs, and life sciences investors. You’ll be responsible for managing the full sales cycle—from outbound prospecting and discovery to proposal development, negotiation, and closing.

This is a high-impact, consultative sales role that blends scientific credibility with business acumen. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to shape solutions that align with customer goals in translational research, clinical trials, or AI-driven portfolio evaluation. Your success will directly contribute to Owkin’s mission of using AI to accelerate drug discovery and development.

In particular, you will:

  • Own the full sales cycle for a portfolio of mid-segment accounts, from pipeline generation and qualification to deal closure and expansion planning.

  • Develop strong, multi-threaded relationships across scientific, BD, and innovation stakeholders in biotech, CROs, and investor-backed companies.

  • Tailor and deliver high-impact proposals, demos, and presentations that clearly articulate Owkin’s value in solving R&D and clinical challenges.

  • Lead pricing and contract discussions with support from legal, finance, and product teams.

  • Identify and cultivate internal champions to support deal momentum and long-term collaboration.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records, forecasts, and pipeline activities.

  • Partner with Technical Sales and Product to scope feasible solutions and support successful handoffs.

  • Share field intelligence to help refine our positioning, messaging, and commercial playbook for the mid-segment.

About you

  • Required

    • Significant experience in B2B enterprise sales or strategic account management, preferably in SaaS, digital platforms, or services sold into life sciences or healthcare.

    • Background in life sciences, digital health, or AI-powered drug development.

    • Familiarity with life science R&D teams and workflows

    • Experience in a high-growth or fast-paced scale-up environment.

    • Experience owning and closing complex sales in biotech, CRO, or related life science sectors.

    • Proven ability to manage multiple accounts and navigate organizations with multiple stakeholders.

    • Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and value articulation skills.

    • Strategic thinker with high commercial acumen and ownership mindset.

    • Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM systems, with strong forecasting and pipeline hygiene.

  • Nice to Have

    • Familiarity with AI/ML platforms or data-driven tools used in translational science, clinical trials, or portfolio evaluation.

Where to Advertise Biotech Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise biotech jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards, academic networks and trade channels that reach biotech R&D and bioprocessing talent. The candidate pool spans life scientists, computational biologists, regulatory specialists and biomanufacturing engineers — each with distinct professional networks and job search behaviours. General job boards reach a broad audience but lack the specificity that biotech professionals expect. Specialist platforms, academic channels and sector-specific communities each serve a different part of the market. This guide, published by BiotechnologyJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise biotech roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.

Biotech Jobs UK 2026: What to Expect Over the Next 3 Years

Biotech Jobs UK 2026: roles, salaries and the genomics, cell therapy and AI-driven drug discovery hiring trends shaping UK biotech careers. Biotechnology is creating jobs at a rate that few other sectors can match. New disciplines are emerging from research labs and entering commercial hiring pipelines, existing roles are fragmenting into deeper specialisms, and the technologies driving it all — from AI-assisted drug discovery to next-generation gene editing — are advancing faster than the workforce can keep pace with. For job seekers, this creates an unusual challenge. In most industries, career planning means navigating a relatively familiar landscape and identifying where your skills fit. In biotech, that landscape is being actively redrawn. The roles generating the most hiring activity in 2028 may look quite different from the ones appearing in job adverts today. That's not a reason to feel overwhelmed — it's a reason to get informed. The candidates who thrive in this market aren't always those with the longest CVs or the most letters after their name. They're the ones who understand where the sector is heading: which disciplines are gaining commercial traction, which technologies are driving employer demand, and how the definition of a "biotech job" is expanding well beyond traditional pharmaceuticals and research roles. This article breaks down what the UK biotech jobs market is likely to look like over the next three years — covering emerging job titles, the technologies reshaping hiring, the skills employers are prioritising right now, and how to position your career ahead of the curve rather than behind it.
