Spire Leicester Hospital is looking for a passionate and experienced Registered Nurse to join our dedicated Pre‑Operative Assessment team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a hospital recognised for delivering exceptional patient care across the East Midlands and beyond.

What you'll Be Doing

In this pivotal role, you'll help ensure our patients are fully prepared for their upcoming procedures. No two days will be the same. You will:

* Support the Lead Nurse in running a safe, effective, patient‑centred pre‑assessment service.

* Provide and coordinate pre‑operative assessments, collaborating with Consultants, Anaesthetists, and wider clinical teams.

* Deliver exceptional nursing care across a variety of specialities.

* Use your clinical expertise to communicate sensitive and complex information with clarity and compassion.

* Promote best practice in health and safety, infection control, and clinical governance.

* Help continuously improve patient experience and departmental processes.

* Mentor junior colleagues and deputise for senior staff when required.

* Uphold NMC standards, safeguarding policies, confidentiality requirements, and our organisational values.

Who We're Looking For

You'll be a confident, caring professional who is committed to delivering the highest standards of clinical care.

* NMC Registered Nurse

* Strong clinical experience, ideally with some pre‑assessment exposure

* Previous surgical environment experience

* Competence across a range of nursing skills

* Up‑to‑date mandatory training, including infection control & health and safety

* Sound understanding of CQC standards and accountable practice

* Strong clinical reasoning skills and confidence working with varied and complex patient cases

* Equipment and medical devices competency

* Experience or understanding of Root Cause Analysis
