Production Scientist - London

A superb opportunity has arisen for aProduction Scientist to join a game changing biotech at a critical time of growth and expansion, working in brand new labs in West London (W12), making the biology behind their NGS platform consistently brilliant.

The Production Scientist will make things, and make them better:

• Express and purify recombinant proteins using a range of systems, including bacterial (e.g.E. coli), cell-free (IVTT) and other hosts when the project calls for it
• Prepare buffers and reagents to precise specifications, and help bring in and validate automated preparation
• Keep R&D projects supplied: scope requests, agree specs and timelines, and help promising candidates graduate into routine production
• Optimise and scale processes across proteins, buffers and reagents, chasing better yield, purity, consistency and turnaround
• Tackle production hiccups methodically, and let the data point the way to improvements
• Juggle platform supply and R&D priorities while working closely with colleagues in platform, chemistry, engineering and R&D

Keeping it High Quality:

• Run QC and release testing on proteins and buffers (SDS-PAGE, concentration, purity, activity assays, pH, conductivity and more), and help shape the specifications and acceptance criteria
• Complete batch records, maintain traceability and support lot release in our eQMS
• Write and maintain SOPs, work instructions and specifications, and contribute to deviations, CAPAs and change control
