Key Responsibilities of the Principal Protein Scientist:

Provide technical expertise and support for manufacturing activities related to processes developed or transferred into the company
Responsible for project deliverables, ensuring they are aligned with agreed objectives and timelines
Lead a small development team across multiple projects, mentoring scientists and managing day-to-day operations
Improve and challenge quality systems, striving for continuous improvements in processes and procedures
Support and guide first-time manufacturing operations, troubleshooting scale-up challenges

Qualifications and Skills Required:

Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline such as Chemistry or Biochemistry
Proven expertise in protein modification and conjugation chemistry techniques, as well as protein purification
Experience of working in a cGMP environment and knowledge of regulatory requirements
Proficiency in process robustness and optimisation studies, as well as product characterisation of the final product
Experience providing technical support and expertise
Excellent analytical and data interpretation skills, with the ability to present and report conclusions and recommendations
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with internal colleagues and external clients
A track record of planning and delivering successful development work programmes
