Location: Maidenhead
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £32000-£35000 DOE
Rotating shift pattern (weekly): Monday - Friday. One week the shift will be 6am-2pm, the week after will be 1.45pm - 9.45pm. This will go on a weekly rota.

About the Role:
Join our client's dynamic team as a Packaging Machine Setter, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Packaging department. Reporting directly to the Facilities and Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for daily changeovers and machine settings, while also supporting the wider business in various capacities.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Packaging Machine Setter, your duties will include:

  • Performing packing line size/product changeovers and machine settings to ensure optimal production efficiency.
  • Maintaining key equipment and machinery in the Packaging department, including Blister Machines, Cartoners, Conveyor Belts, Labellers, Banding machines, and Tray Packers.
  • Conducting daily maintenance and cleaning of change parts to uphold the highest standards of operation.
  • Maintaining Good Manufacturing Practise (GMP) documentation as required by the governing regulator (MHRA) and in line with best practises.
  • Collaborating with the Facilities team on maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • Participating in multiple project activities and continuous improvement initiatives as part of a dedicated team.
  • Performing any additional tasks assigned by relevant stakeholders to support your role.
    Required Skills and Experience:
    To excel in this position, the ideal candidate will possess:
  • An understanding of GMP working environments, particularly in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Packaging Processes.
  • Experience in machine setting and troubleshooting, with a complete understanding of mechanical components such as pneumatics, servo motors, heat plates, cameras, bearings, and forming stations.
  • Proficiency in machine HMI settings and strong problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, across all levels of the organisation.
  • A proactive approach to working independently and collaboratively within a growing team.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with a keen attention to detail and documentation quality.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products, including Word and Excel, and familiarity with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Basic mathematical skills and the ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Flexibility in working hours as required.
