Microbiology Analyst

Location: North London 

Permanent - Full Time - Mon-Fri

Salary: £26,000

Our client, a leader in delivering high quality, processed biological materials is seeking an experienced Microbiology Analyst to join their dynamic team. If successful, you will be responsible for performing and validating a variety of microbiological tests, as well as reporting any deviations for investigation.

Key responsibilities of the Microbiology Analyst include:

Conducting microbiological testing and validation, including but not limited to: Bioburden Testing, Sterility Testing, and Microbial Identification.

Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and GMP policies.

Analysing results and conducting trend and statistical analysis.

Reporting any deviations and assist with investigations.

Maintaining calibration, functionality, and cleanliness of laboratory equipment.

Prepare reagents, standards, and samples, ensuring good stock control.

Participating in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with GMP, laboratory safety protocols, and record keeping practices.

Maintaining accurate laboratory records organising assigned work activities, ensuring any delays are reported in a timely manner.

To be considered as a Microbiology Analyst, you will need the following skills or experience:

A BSc/MSc in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biomedical Science, Biology, Pharmacology, or another relevant scientific discipline, or equivalent work experience.

Previous experience working in a microbiology laboratory environment, ideally within the pharmaceutical industry.

Strong understanding of microbiological principles and aseptic techniques.

Experience performing routine microbiology techniques, including but not limited to: Sterility Testing, Endotoxin Testing, Bioburden Testing, Microbial Enumeration, Microscopy, and Microbial Identification.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret data and troubleshoot issues within the laboratory.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues and report scientific results.
