Position: Mechanical Fitter - Pharmaceutical

Location: Liverpool

Salary: £35k-£45k+Benefits

An excellent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join a pharmaceutical equipment manufacturer based in Liverpool. The role involves full-cycle mechanical assembly and fitting of bespoke process equipment - including pressure vessels, rotating machinery, gearboxes, agitators, motors, and hydraulic systems. You will play a key part in build completion, testing, and supporting on-site installations both in the UK and overseas.

Job Overview

* Take ownership of all mechanical build documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

* Assemble and fit mechanical components to tight tolerances, including limits, fits, and shaft clearances.

* Work collaboratively within a multi-skilled team, including Electrical and Control Engineers, to ensure timely completion of full equipment builds.

* Liaise with engineering teams to resolve issues relating to fit, function, or design.

* Inspect mechanical components, main fabrications, and pressure vessels at supplier premises.

* Ensure all tasks are carried out safely and in line with H&S requirements.

* Report non-conformances via established quality systems.

* Support the Production team with day-to-day activities and provide regular updates on contract progress.

* Assist with off-site installations at customer sites as required.

Requirements

* Time-served mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.

* Previous experience in a similar mechanical fitting role.

* Experience with pressure vessel testing (desirable).

* Hands-on experience with agitators, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems.

* Strong attention to detail.

* Effective problem-solving skills.

* Excellent communication abilities.

* Ability to read and understand assembly drawings.

Salary & Benefits

* Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
