The Position:

This role will be accountable for the R&D 2.0 Digital Acceleration Roadmap, delivery and value realization to enable R&D to meet its cycle time and operational efficiency targets. This role will partner with RDLT and the TES LT to identify disruptive technologies and disruption applications of existing technologies to accelerate the transformation of I&T.

Responsibilities:

  • Digital Strategy & Vision: Develop and execute a digital acceleration roadmap aligned with the broader R&D Technology Enabled Science vision.

  • Technology Enablement: Identify, evaluate, and implement cutting-edge technologies (e.g., AI/ML, data analytics, automation, digital twin, cloud platforms) to support R&D activities.

  • Innovation Acceleration: Partner with R&D teams to digitize key processes, enhance data utilization, and enable rapid experimentation.

  • Lead the charge using Agentic Software Development approaches to drive innovation in R&D

  • Change Leadership: Drive cultural and organizational change to support digital adoption, including change management and stakeholder engagement.

  • Collaboration & Partnerships: Work closely with CSL I&T and R&D teams, as well as external partners and startups.

  • Performance Monitoring: Define KPIs and metrics to track the impact of digital initiatives on R&D productivity and outcomes.

  • Talent Development: Hire, develop and retain critical talent, modernization our delivery and development methodologies to align to a platform delivery mindset. Establish and manage relationships with trusted technology and service partners


Education & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences, or related field;

  • 10+ years of experience in R&D, digital transformation, or innovation leadership roles.

  • Proven experience implementing digital solutions in a scientific, engineering, or technical environment.

  • Strong knowledge of emerging digital technologies relevant to R&D.

  • Experience delivering solutions using Agentic Development tools like Claude Code and Codex.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence at all organizational levels.
