Are you a tech professional who loves coding and developing software tools, or a database developer passionate about scientific structure databases? The ONE Group have partnered with a cutting-edge research team in Cambridge, where you'll play a key role in supporting and optimising chemical and biological information systems that drive innovation.

In the Informatics team, you will work closely with research scientists to develop, maintain, and enhance discovery research databases, scientific information systems, and reporting tools. This role is ideal for someone from a scientific background who enjoys bridging the gap between informatics and scientific research, ensuring that critical data and software solutions support world-class drug discovery efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop discovery research databases, ensuring seamless data management
  • Collaborate with scientists to implement new software tools and reporting systems
  • Support and enhance compound registration systems and LIMS integration
  • Lead the support of an inventory management system used in research operations
  • Develop assay templates and improve data handling processes for screening studies
  • Train end-users and ensure smooth adoption of informatics solutions


About You

  • Strong programming skills in Python (using pandas, numpy)
  • Experience with cheminformatics APIs (preferably RDKit)
  • Background in relational database development (Oracle preferred) with schema design, ETL, and data warehousing
  • Experience in drug discovery/biotech/pharma research environments
  • Understanding of biological assay data, quality control, and data storage
  • Experience with data pipelining tools
  • Experience working with cloud technologies – AWS
