Business Insights Manager (12 Month Fixed Term Contract/Secondment)

AstraZeneca seeks a Business Insights Manager to join the Insights & Analytics team on a fixed term contract, supporting the Cardio-Renal therapy area. This is an opportunity to guide the future of the organisation by informing and influencing business strategy through data-driven decision-making.

Introduction to Role

As Business Insights Manager, you will analyse a variety of data sources, including sales, market activity, and competitive intelligence, developing actionable recommendations that bring value and support AstraZeneca’s strategic goals. The role also involves leading market research projects that answer critical business questions and improve brand and financial planning processes. Daily collaboration with colleagues in Marketing, Finance, Market Access is a key aspect, as is the continual exploration of new research methods and innovative analytical approaches. In your scope will be both in-line medicines as well as pipeline.

This specific role is to partner with our Cardio-Renal therapy area team.

Key Accountabilities

Daily responsibilities are in Forecasting, Insights and Analytics. These include distilling complex data into important insights about markets, brands, and customers, supporting priority brands through identification of emerging patterns and opportunities, and communicating clear, actionable recommendations to help get our medicines to the right patients.

Insights are generated via designing and delivering primary market research (inc. managing 3rd party vendors), secondary data analysis, and collaborating with Global and Regional partners.

For Forecasting, this position is responsible for both strategic and financial planning activities. Delivering robust, clear and ambitious forecasts in partnership with the Franchise head and Business unit director. This position will translate the strategy into models which output scenarios for our patient ambition. All while maintaining robust compliance with AstraZeneca’s policies and Code of Conduct.

Essential experience and capabilities:

  • Strong experience in insights or analytical roles in the pharma or associated industries (NHS or Consultancy).
  • Capability to own brand and market forecasts.
  • Experience of the pharma industry, including the UK environment, NHS.
  • Ability to distil impactful and actionable insights out of different data sets and reports.
  • Proven track record of driving decisions with senior stakeholders in a complex environment.
  • Collaborative team-player. Self-starter who can face challenges with positive attitude.

Desirable experience and capabilities:

  • Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree or equivalent experience in a business-related field, experience in specific therapy areas.
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly develop understanding of, the cardio-renal therapy area, including key clinical concepts, treatment pathways and decision drivers.
