Walker Cole is recruiting a Senior Bioanalytical Scientist with strong LC–MS expertise for a leading pharmaceutical process research organisation. The team supports development and manufacture of biologics, advanced therapies, and vaccines for some of the world's largest pharma and biotech companies.

The Role

You'll provide analytical support across a broad biologics portfolio - mAbs, ADCs, gene therapies, and vaccines - working alongside process development scientists and analytical colleagues on method development, troubleshooting, and data interpretation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop LC–MS methods for biologic characterisation: intact mass, subunit analysis, and peptide mapping workflows
  • Build targeted LC–MS/MS assays for quantitation of proteins, peptides, and biomarkers
  • Support characterisation of ADCs, gene therapy products, and vaccine-related proteins
  • Design sample preparation workflows including enzymatic digestion, SPE, and immunocapture strategies
  • Perform data analysis using HRMS tools (MassHunter, BioConfirm, Skyline) including PTM identification and deconvolution
  • Troubleshoot analytical issues and maintain QTOF and triple quadrupole platforms in line with GxP expectations
  • Author SOPs, method development reports, and validation documentation to ICH Q2(R2)
  • Support and mentor junior team members

Experience Required

  • Hands-on experience across top-down, middle-down, and bottom-up MS workflows
  • Strong background in PTM analysis - glycosylation, oxidation, deamidation, phosphorylation
  • Experience with Agilent QTOF systems and MassHunter/BioConfirm is advantageous
  • Metabolomics, lipidomics, or spent media analysis experience is a plus
