Salary: £25K-£30K Dependent on Experience

Job Summary

Genedrive is seeking a motivated and proactive Assay Development Scientist, ideally at Scientist II level, but applications from Scientist I candidates with relevant experience will also be considered. You will be involved in all aspects of assay development, including working with novel PCR instruments and developing and optimizing bespoke assays. You will also support the Operations department with the manufacture and quality control of Genedrive assay products as needed.

You will report to Assay Development Scientist II/III and Senior Managers.

Essential Functions

Perform experiments, analyze data, and design follow-up studies with minimal supervision.
Write clear and detailed laboratory books, technical plans, protocols, reports, and SOPs.
Generate and maintain project documentation in accordance with internal and external requirements.
Investigate out-of-specification results or non-conforming products when required.
Contribute to manufacturing and QC method/process development and validation.
Assist with manufacture and quality control of Genedrive assay products following company procedures.
Ensure compliant completion and technical review of production records.
Assist with software validation activities.
Engage with Genedrive’s Quality Management System, including document management, CAPA, and Asset Management modules.
Contribute to the organization, maintenance, and operation of laboratory equipment and processes.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

Education: BSc/MSc in molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or related discipline with a minimum 3 years of relevant experience, or PhD with a minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
Strong understanding of molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or related disciplines.
Hands-on experience conducting biochemical or molecular biology experiments to meet defined targets.
Ability to analyze experimental data, derive conclusions, and plan subsequent experiments.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Experience working under a Quality Management System, ideally to ISO 13485:2016
