About us

Owkin is an AI company on a mission to solve the complexity of biology. It is building the first Biology Super Intelligence (BASI) by combining powerful biological large language models, multimodal patient data, and agentic software. At the heart of this system is Owkin K, an AI copilot and its new LLM fine-tuned on biology called Owkin Zero, used by researchers, clinicians, and drug developers to better understand biology, validate scientific hypotheses, and deliver better diagnostics and therapies faster.

Position is based in our Paris office.

Please submit your CV in English

About the role:

As a AI Engineer Intern, you will contribute to build the data pipelines fuelling the leading Agentic AI product for biomedical researchers by optimising workflows, integrate new biological datasets, and develop new features within the team. You'll be working on a real-time system that integrates LLMs, tool-calling, and interactive UI elements, making sure our users can seamlessly engage with complex domain specific data.

This role requires integrating in a multi-disciplinary team (Software Engineers, Data Engineers, MLEngineers, Data Scientists) working on Owkin’s agentic product: K: Multimodal Context team. The team is responsible for providing the right information to the orchestration through tool calling.

The internship is expected to involve contributions across these different expertises in various parts of the product.

The internship will be supervised by a dedicated member of the team and the whole team will ensure to set it up for success.

In particular, you will:

  • Onboard on Owkin’s agentic data pipelines, K ecosystem, and learn to manipulate Owkin’s proprietary biological datasets

  • Grasp a firm understanding of the data production pipeline, identify bottlenecks and potential improvements.

  • Address user feedback from multiple parties: internal biomedical team, pharma clients, students, researchers… to continuously increase the capacities of K,

  • Improve developer experience: Buildmanual workflows (documentation & make commands), continuous integration / delivery(CI / CD) workflows (github actions),orchestrated workflows (Airflow), dashboards (Grafana) in order to continuously elevate the engineering standards of the development of the product

  • Experiment innovative improvements and Proofs of Concept on a sub-component of the product.

At the end of the internship, we expect you to:

  • Make meaningful contributions to the codebase that directly impact the data production/integration into K,

  • Define and implement cross-modality complex agentic workflows involving biological data,

  • Write and review high-quality code respecting the industry standards (CI/CD workflows, linting, typing)

About you

  • Master student or equivalent level (ideally end of study internship)

  • You’re driven by impact — excited to empower biomedical researchers with intuitive, AI-driven tools that unlock scientific discovery.

  • Strong collaborative skills with an open, pragmatic mindset; you thrive in multidisciplinary environments that involve people with diverse backgrounds.

  • Clear and effective communicator who can translate technical complexity into actionable decisions for the team.

  • Proven track record of agentic AI or data engineering projects

  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.

  • Stack: Python, Airflow, Grafana, Github

Where to Advertise Biotech Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise biotech jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards, academic networks and trade channels that reach biotech R&D and bioprocessing talent. The candidate pool spans life scientists, computational biologists, regulatory specialists and biomanufacturing engineers — each with distinct professional networks and job search behaviours. General job boards reach a broad audience but lack the specificity that biotech professionals expect. Specialist platforms, academic channels and sector-specific communities each serve a different part of the market. This guide, published by BiotechnologyJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise biotech roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.

Biotech Jobs UK 2026: What to Expect Over the Next 3 Years

Biotech Jobs UK 2026: roles, salaries and the genomics, cell therapy and AI-driven drug discovery hiring trends shaping UK biotech careers. Biotechnology is creating jobs at a rate that few other sectors can match. New disciplines are emerging from research labs and entering commercial hiring pipelines, existing roles are fragmenting into deeper specialisms, and the technologies driving it all — from AI-assisted drug discovery to next-generation gene editing — are advancing faster than the workforce can keep pace with. For job seekers, this creates an unusual challenge. In most industries, career planning means navigating a relatively familiar landscape and identifying where your skills fit. In biotech, that landscape is being actively redrawn. The roles generating the most hiring activity in 2028 may look quite different from the ones appearing in job adverts today. That's not a reason to feel overwhelmed — it's a reason to get informed. The candidates who thrive in this market aren't always those with the longest CVs or the most letters after their name. They're the ones who understand where the sector is heading: which disciplines are gaining commercial traction, which technologies are driving employer demand, and how the definition of a "biotech job" is expanding well beyond traditional pharmaceuticals and research roles. This article breaks down what the UK biotech jobs market is likely to look like over the next three years — covering emerging job titles, the technologies reshaping hiring, the skills employers are prioritising right now, and how to position your career ahead of the curve rather than behind it.
