A Day in the Life

The Territory Sales manager (TM) will hold the overall responsibility for the selling of the diabetes portfolio and achieving sales targets in line with the UK Sales and marketing strategy. This is a strategic account development role identifying and liaising with key decision makers and influencers. The TM will be required to work closely with the Technical Consultant and District Sales Manager to ensure successful business growth in the defined Territory.

You will cover the area from Gloucester, Bristol, Bath, Exeter to Cornwall therefore you must live in the area and be comfortable with regular traveling across the region.

This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic's Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. This separation provides our team with a bold opportunity to unleash our potential, enabling us to operate with greater speed and agility. As a separate entity, we anticipate leveraging increased investments to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Take responsible for the overall selling and promotion of the diabetes product portfolio, ensuring meticulous execution of agreed activities
  • Design and develop innovative local implementation plans to shape partnerships with key local stakeholders
  • Identify and maximize broader customer relationships with multiple stakeholders allowing development of key decision makers and influencers within the territory
  • Work closely with all key business functions to partner and overcome capacity barriers to grow business in targeted accounts
  • Develop and implement business plans to expand the growth in this sector using innovation and experienced sales knowledge
  • Develop and influence key decision making criteria in favor of Medtronic therapies, including resolution of risks and concerns
  • Use basic proficiency health-economics, reimbursement and tender processes, with potential to influence key decision maker criteria for impactful outcomes


Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree
  • Sales experience in medical/pharmaceutical/biotech industry
  • Willingness and ability to travel, clean driving record
  • Strong business acumen, analytical and selling skills
  • Interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
  • Enthusiastic, driven, innovative approach to business
