Atrandi Biosciences is a cutting-edge biotechnology startup based in Vilnius, Lithuania, leading the way in single-cell analysis innovation. Our proprietary Semi-Permeable Capsule (SPC) technology is revolutionizing ultra-high-throughput single-cell research. With a comprehensive product portfolio spanning instruments, reagents, microfluidic chips, and software, we empower scientists around the world to unravel the most complex biological questions.
We’re looking for a driven and technically savvy Technical Sales Manager to help expand our U.S. presence and join our soon-to-open Boston office. This is a rare opportunity to get in early at a fast-moving life sciences company during a pivotal stage of global growth. You’ll be on the front lines of our commercial efforts—building relationships, closing deals, and enabling researchers to adopt breakthrough tools for single-cell sequencing and high-throughput screening.
This is not a passive sales role. We’re looking for someone who combines scientific expertise with commercial drive—someone who takes ownership, moves fast, and thrives in a high-growth environment. You’ll manage the full sales cycle, partner closely with Field Application Scientists to support evaluations, and collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing and Product teams.
Responsibilities:
Drive new business by identifying, engaging, and converting prospects into long-term customers.
Own the full sales cycle - from prospecting and demos to negotiation and deal closure.
Build strong relationships with scientists, procurement teams, and decision-makers across academia, biotech, and pharma.
Collaborate with Field Application Scientists to guide technical evaluations and ensure successful product adoption.
Represent Atrandi at conferences, trade shows, and customer meetings—generating leads and elevating our brand.
Maintain accurate pipeline data, forecast revenue, and track performance using CRM tools (Salesforce).
Stay ahead of market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback—bringing insights back to the team to refine messaging and targeting.
What We’re Looking For:
3+ years of experience in technical sales, ideally in genomics, single-cell analysis, or life sciences tools.
Advanced scientific degree (MS or PhD) in a life science field such as molecular biology, genetics, or biotechnology.
Demonstrated success in hitting or exceeding sales targets in a complex, consultative sales environment.
Clear, confident communication skills with the ability to adapt to both scientific and commercial audiences.
Strong organizational and time management skills—you know how to prioritize, follow up, and keep deals moving.
Familiarity with CRM platforms like Salesforce and a data-driven mindset for managing pipeline and performance.
Willingness to travel up to 50% to visit customers, attend events, and support key accounts.
Ideally based in the Greater Boston Area.
What we offer:
The chance to be a part of the team that is making a significant impact in the global industry of biotechnology.
Engage in a vibrant, collaborative and rapidly growing workspace that encourages creativity and teamwork. You’ll work alongside passionate professionals dedicated to pushing the boundaries of innovation.
ADD medical insurance.
ADD 401k.
This position includes 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) annually, in addition to discretionary personal days.
Uncapped commission structure, rewarding performance and revenue growth.

How Many Biotechnology Tools Do You Need to Know to Get a Biotech Job?

If you are trying to break into biotechnology or progress your career, it can feel like the list of tools you are expected to know is endless. One job advert asks for PCR, another mentions cell culture, another lists bioinformatics pipelines, automation platforms or GMP systems. LinkedIn makes it worse, with people sharing long skills lists that make you wonder if you are already behind. Here is the reality most biotech employers will not say out loud: they are not hiring you because you know every tool. They are hiring you because you understand biological systems, can work accurately and safely, follow protocols, interpret results and contribute reliably to a team. Tools matter, but only when they support those outcomes. So how many biotechnology tools do you actually need to know to get a job? The answer depends on the role you are targeting, but for most job seekers it is far fewer than you think. This article breaks down what employers really expect, which tools are essential, which are role-specific, and how to focus your learning so you look employable rather than overwhelmed.

What Hiring Managers Look for First in Biotechnology Job Applications (UK Guide)

Hiring managers in biotechnology do not start by reading your CV word for word. They scan for credibility, relevance and risk. In a regulated, evidence-driven sector like biotech, the first question is simple: is this person safe, competent and genuinely capable of contributing in this environment? Whether you are applying for roles in research, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, clinical, bioinformatics or commercial biotech, the strongest applications make the right signals obvious in the first 10–20 seconds. This in-depth guide explains exactly what hiring managers in UK biotechnology look for first, how they assess CVs, cover letters and portfolios, and why capable candidates are often rejected. Use it as a practical checklist before you apply.
