Salary: Dependent on skills and experience

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Design Engineer to join our specialist and experienced Building Services company providing to the Energy, Food Processing and Pharmaceutical Industry with a unique service. We provide a unique service from concept, advising and partnering with our clients to ensure the correct mechanical and electrical solution bespoke to their needs.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and deliver a wide range of projects including: -

  • Low temperature hot water systems & their site wide distribution

  • Steam & Condensate within Energy Centres

  • ASHP & WSHP Installations

  • Combined Heat & Power projects and their integration

  • Commercial, industrial, and Healthcare.

  • Prepare high quality information including technical specifications, designs, drawings, equipment schedules, survey reports, and contract documentation.

  • You will be expected to produce energy efficient designs and be able to demonstrate financial benefits to our clients.

  • Attend meetings with clients and multidisciplinary design teams as the MEP project lead.

  • Develop and present project design proposals to the project team and client.

  • Undertake project surveys including site inspections, stock condition, refurbishment and post-occupancy performance evaluations.

  • Develop new and repeat business.

  • Maintain regular contact with all clients.

  • Monitor and review junior staff performance.

  • Report resource and financial information to group Partners.

  • Identify opportunities for new services and company development.

  • Ensure accurate mark ups for CAD, liaising with drawing office to ensure project designs are reflected clearly & accurately in construction drawings.

  • Responsibility as design lead on client projects including attendance and representation of the company at all necessary design meetings.

  • Responsibility for design co-ordination & design audits through project installation

  • The candidate is expected to be conscientious, enthusiastic, well organised and professional. They must provide a constant positive influence on the team, encourage others and lead by example.

  • The candidate is expected to be proactive with developing their own and others knowledge, while driving standards and quality throughout the team

    Qualifications Required:

  • 8 years minimum experience as a Building Services Designer Engineer or similar.

  • HNC or a degree in either Mechanical, Building Services or related Engineering discipline.

  • Experience working on projects such as Energy Centres, CHP & Energy projects or healthcare sector also desirable.

  • Hold, or working towards, membership with relevant industry body (CIBSE, IMechE, IET)
