Specialist Bariatric Surgery Dietitian at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust Join our team as a Specialist Bariatric Surgery Dietitian at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust .
We have a vacancy within our Bariatric Surgery Dietetic Team, which collaborates with surgeons, advanced clinical practitioners, and clinical psychologists. Experience in bariatric surgery is not essential; we seek a passionate dietitian interested in obesity management.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct dietetic assessments, provide nutritional diagnoses, and develop treatment plans tailored to patients' needs.
Manage a patient caseload, including complex cases.
Maintain accurate clinical records following Trust guidelines.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members such as medical staff, nurses, catering, and other healthcare professionals.
Adhere to national and Trust policies, HCPC, and BDA standards.
Monitor practice against standards and participate in flexible working hours, including bank holidays if required.
Assess and monitor patients undergoing Tier 4 (bariatric surgery) care.
Support student dietitians during clinical placements.
Perform dietetic/nutritional assessments, interpret biochemistry and anthropometrics, and provide personalized advice.
Evaluate patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and communicate effectively with patients and staff.
Engage in audit, service development, and CPD activities.
Supervise student dietitians and participate in health promotion initiatives.
Work autonomously within professional standards, prioritizing workload and practicing person-centered care.
