Business Unit: Medical Communications (Enzyme Communications)

Location: South Bank, London (hybrid – 2 days per week)

The Opportunity


Enzyme Communications is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Science Communicator (senior/group medical writer) to join our team, great for someone looking to build their knowledge of management, strategy, and business development. The successful candidate will have detailed experience of working in an agency environment and servicing healthcare and biotechnology clients, managing and developing medical writers, strategists, or similar, alongside experience contributing to pitches and other business development activities.


Key Responsibilities


  • Developing long-term relationships with clients and providing strategic counsel
  • Developing and managing a high-performance team
  • Development and review (sign-off) of high-quality and accurate medical and scientific content with ability to adapt style and approach across multiple audiences and channels
  • Development of strategies to meet communications objectives for a wide variety of audiences
  • Contribution to (and in some situations, leadership of) business development activities, e.g., pitches, proposals, presentation of company credentials and capabilities
  • Work with the creative and accounts teams to create ‘consumability from complexity’ with ultimate responsibility for accuracy and quality of content and story flows


About You


  • A minimum of five years’ experience in an agency environment, for example as a senior planner or senior medical writer
  • Post-graduate qualification(s) in biomedical sciences or similar
  • Demonstrable business development experience, with the ability to make a significant contribution to pitching and planning
  • Experience reviewing and signing-off content from junior team members
  • Excellent data communication skills
  • Be self-motivated, passionate and a good communicator
  • Excellent knowledge of the ABPI and other international codes of conduct
