Associate to Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services Design)

Southwest London, Kent borders

Circa £50k - £70k DOE

Associate Electrical Design Engineer / Building Services / MEP / Consultancy / Senior Electrical Design Engineer

This role is to join a thriving practice of mechanical and electrical building services design engineers, they cover a range of projects in sectors including pharmaceutical, education, industrial, financial, hotels, leisure health and residential.

You will be an electrical design engineer at either at senior or associate senior level and upon joining will become part of a highly supportive team environment where you’ll feel like a trusted, valued professional and colleague from day one. You will be offered an ongoing commitment to training and your personal improvement and development.

It’s notable that this employer has a heavy focus on low carbon design and are a highly ethical business and this is a strong part of their culture which runs through all aspects of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Establish client brief, technical requirements, scope of works and provide information for cost plans.

  • Run projects from inception through to completion,

  • Monitoring engineering resource requirement for each project within your control.

  • Carry out concept design to detailed design through to tender and completion.

  • Maintain client and design team relationships.

  • Reviewing and commenting on information provided by contactors/sub-contractors.

  • Attending and contributing to design team meetings, client meetings, pre-contract and post-contract meetings.

  • Have a strong awareness of Low Carbon design.

    Experience Required

  • Proven experience as an electrical design engineer within building services.

  • Preferably degree qualified.

  • Chartered or a desire to become chartered would be beneficial.

  • A consultancy background.

  • Experience of a range of different project types.

  • Knowledge of British Standards.

  • Excellent communication and written skills
